






CAPACITY BUILDING FOR URBAN LOCAL BODIES (CBULB)
Strengthening of Urban Local Governments through capacity building and better financial management is identified as a key strategy for the urban development in the 11th Plan. With a view to support capacity building of Urban Local Governments (ULBs), the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India launched a scheme Capacity Building for Urban Local Bodies (CBULB). It aims to provide financial assistance for training the ULB functionaries. Accordingly, the State Government submitted a detailed proposal on Capacity Building of ULBs to the MoUD, Government of India, based on the critical gaps identified in the context of urban development.
Government of India approved the proposal and accorded sanction for 1103.50 lakh as grant to the State Government under the CBULB to carry out the following activities:

State Level Nodal Agency
Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project (KSUDP) has been designated as the State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for the implementation of CBULB project in the State.
Administrative sanction
The State Government accorded administrative sanction for implementing the CBULB project with the grant-in-aid from the Government of India.
Steering Committee
The State Government has constituted a Steering Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of CBULB for the smooth implementation and effective monitoring of CBULB project. The following are the members:
